End of Key Stage 2 National Curriculum Test Results 

In May 2016, our Year 6 cohort took the National Curriculum Tests in English and Mathematics. Here is a summary of the results for our school based on children who actually sat the tests and were not disapplied due to working below the level of the test. It is important to note that this is the first time children have taken the new tests. They are more demanding and reflect the pitch and expectations of the revised National Curriculum introduced in 2014. 

KS2 Attainment

  • Percentage reaching expected standard in Reading, Writing and Mathematics: School 28% / National 53%
  • Percentage reaching expected standard in Reading: School 36% / National 36%
  • Percentage reaching expected standard in Writing: School 36% / National 74%
  • Percentage reaching expected standard in Mathematics: School 72% / National 70%
  • Percentage reaching expected standard in Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar: School 84% / National 72%
  • Average Scaled Score in Reading: 99 (National of 103)
  • Average Scaled Score in Mathematics: 107 (National of 103)

 KS2 Progress

  • In Reading, 58% of children made at least sufficient progress based on their Key Stage 1 starting point. 
  • In Writing, 42% of children made at least sufficient progress based on their Key Stage 1 starting point.
  • In Mathematics, 95% made at least sufficient progress based on their Key Stage 1 starting point.
