Nursery & Reception

Hi Nursery and Reception,

We would really love to see what you are doing at home. Please tag us on Twitter (@FriarsPrimary) with any photos.

Keep safe and stay home!

Nursery Home Learning Activities:

Hi Nursery,

Please find the Home Learning Challenges attached below. We will be continuing to focus on the children's communication skills and social skills. The best thing for you to do at home it to continue to talk to your child, question what they are doing throughout their play and develop their conversations based on what they are doing.

We have planned activities for you to do with your child, in line with our daily timetable in school. Please find attached a daily home learning sheet, linked to their Phonic, Maths and Talk Time learning, along with their play.

Please feel free to email Miss Paton with any pictures or questions: rachel.paton@salford.gov.uk.

Thank you and we hope to see you all soon,

Miss Paton, Miss Donoghue and Mrs Winterbourne

Reception Home Learning Activities:

Dear Reception children,

We hope you have had a relaxing half term and that you have been able to go to the Park or have a local walk to enjoy some of the lovely sunshine that has recently arrived. It's certainly feeling closer to Spring now!

Hopefully it's not too long until we see you back in school but in the meantime keep up the good work because you are all superstars! Last term, you practised letter formation from a-z, going through the different letter families. Keep up with any letters you found difficult so when you come back to school your handwriting is perfect! To replace the letter formation activities there will now be a daily reading activity for you to practise your segmenting and blending skills, as well as your understanding skills.

Don't forget, every day new work will be posted in time for the start of the school day. Remember to refresh the page at 9:45am when the phonic lesson links become available for 24 hours.

One of the Reception teachers will be ringing you again this week to ask how you are and to see how you are getting along with the activities. Let us know if you need any help!

Please continue to email pictures of your work to philippa.fernley@salford.gov.uk and nicola.cavli@salford.gov.ukWe love replying to your emails and sharing your fantastic work on our home learning gallery page. We are all so proud of you!

Speak to you soon,

Mrs Cavli, Miss Fernley, Mrs Clark and Mrs Smith.

EYFS Literacy

Below are the letters with the picture symbols, these will help your child recognise the letters when reading (a for apple) and writing them (around the apple down the leaf). The second document explains all the letter rhymes we use at school to support the children's handwriting.
