Nursery & Reception

Hi Nursery and Reception,

We would really love to see what you are doing at home. Please tag us on Twitter (@FriarsPrimary) with any photos.

Keep safe and stay home!

Nursery Home Learning Activities:

Hi Nursery,

I am so sad that we won't be in school for the next 8 days. I hope you are all safe and well!

Please find the Home Learning Challenges attached below. We will be continuing to focus on the children's communication skills and social skills. The best thing for you to do at home it to continue to talk to your child, question what they are doing throughout their play and develop their conversations based on what they are doing.

I have planned activities for you to do with your child, in line with our daily timetable in school. Please find attached a daily home learning sheet, linked to their Phonic, Maths and Talk Time learning, along with their play.

Please feel free to email me with any pictures, videos or questionsrachel.paton@salford.gov.uk. I love seeing what fantastic things you all do at home - it makes me so proud of you all!

Thank you, Miss Paton

Reception Home Learning Activities:

Dear Reception children,

We are very sad to be out of school once more as we lead up to the Easter Holidays. However, we have planned lots of great activities for you to do to ensure that our learning continues no matter where we are!

This time we have made an exciting change! Instead of presenting a daily sheet onto this page, we are now using SEESAW https://web.seesaw.me/ as our platform to get the work delivered to you all. You were all given your own personal seesaw code on Friday and are so happy to see that many of you have already logged on and started to upload your fantastic work for all of the Reception Staff to see. If you have any issue with your Seesaw code please contact Mrs Cavli or Miss Fernley on the email addresses below and we will help you sort things out.

Secondly we are having a daily GOOGLE CLASSROOM  meet up at 12pm everyday. A letter was sent out last week including all the instructions on how to get on board. This is a chance to see all your friends and your teachers together, sing some songs and  talk about the work that we are doing that day. We can't wait to see you all today at 12pm. Your teacher will open the door to the meeting just before 12pm and be there to welcome everyone in!

We are all so excited to see all the wonderful work that you are going to upload for us to see. We will be celebrating all that you have done in our daily meet up on Google Classroom!

One of the Reception team will be ringing you again this week to ask how you are and to see how you are getting along with the activities. Let us know if you need any help!

Please contact us on  philippa.fernley@salford.gov.uk and nicola.cavli@salford.gov.uk  with any questions.

We are all so proud of you!

Speak to you soon,

Mrs Cavli, Miss Fernley, Mrs Clark and Mrs Smith.

EYFS Literacy

Below are the letters with the picture symbols, these will help your child recognise the letters when reading (a for apple) and writing them (around the apple down the leaf). The second document explains all the letter rhymes we use at school to support the children's handwriting.
